Princess -Nevaeh Schuldt
Hello, my name is Nevaeh Schuldt, your 2023 Haines Stampede Princess, I’m the 17-year-old and the daughter of Levi Schuldt and Amanda Schuldt who lost her battle with Cystic Fibrosis. I’m an Honor Roll student at North Powder High School and will be a Senior this fall. I am active in Volleyball, Basketball, Rodeo, FFA and National Honors Society. My goals in school are to graduate with an Honors Degree and go to college for a Ranch Management or a X-Ray Tech (which ever pays more). I have grown up around the ranching/farming community and have been rodeoing for 9 years.
This year my rodeo partner is a dark bay, 16-year-old Quarter Horse gelding, Banjo, or as I like to call him Bubzy. Banjo and I have a great connection together. I have been riding him since he was 7. Banjo loves going to brandings and rodeos, but what he loves most is sitting at the trailer doing absolutely nothing. It’s going to be another great year with my best friend on the rodeo road.
The Haines Stampede is a big part of my family as they have been going and helping out with it since 1990 (I wasn’t even alive). Since the rodeo is a big part of my family, I haven’t missed the one since I was born. I started carrying flags for the Haines Stampede since Skyler was on court (Wow it’s been a long time). Being a part of the Haines Rodeo Court has been a huge dream of mine. I am blessed and excited to be a part of it with Brook and Ella this year.
Princess- Ella Wilde
Hello everyone, I am Ella Wilde, your 2023 Haines Stampede Princess. I am the 14-year-old daughter of Scott and Amanda Wilde, and live on a ranch in Keating, where we raise cattle, hay, and wheat. I have one older sibling, Katie, who is currently attending Montana State University. Some of my hobbies include fishing, hunting, hanging out with friends and family and of course riding my horses, basically anything outdoors. I will attend Baker Early College as a high school sophomore this fall and taking elective classes at Baker High School. I am involved in FFA, 4-H as an Ambassador, the American Angus Association, and the American Quarter Horse Association. Currently, I am Baker FFA’s Greenhand President. I show cattle in 4-H and FFA and have won numerous awards with them.
My partner this year is a 14-year-old Bay Quarter Horse Named Dixie or as I like to call Dixieland Delight. When I started this journey, I was going to use my mare Candy, but unfortunately, I lost her this last January. Dixie is on loan from our family friend, Brandon Martin, for this rodeo season. I am thankful to have her. She has a kind personality and is as fast as the wind. This year the knowledge that I gain will be used to improve my project horse Cash. I am going to bring him along this year, so that I can use him in future years.
Being on the Haines Stampede Rodeo Court means a lot to me. This year I have been able to meet so many new people already. When I was little, I was so excited to see the rodeo queens and when they smiled at me it made my day. Gretchen and Makea showed me what rodeo court is all about. They showed me the ropes and the reins. I have also carried a flag for the Haines Stampede for the last 3 years and I have gotten familiar with this rodeo. This year I have grown so much already and I can’t wait to keep growing with these two amazing girls, Brook and Nevaeh.
Queen- Brook Parsons
Hello, I’m Brook Parsons, your 2023 Haines Stampede Queen. I’m a 15-year-old sophomore at Baker High School. I am active in FFA, Cheerleading, I enjoy welding, moving cattle and free-range riding, and I just love everything about rodeo. I am one in a family of 7, my dad, John, a Baker City Police Officer, my mom, Brandi, the Activity Director at Meadowbrook Assisted Living and my three siblings, Seth, Kadence, and JW, along with bonus siblings Ian, and Ava.
This year my rodeo partner is the best little palomino, my quarter horse Dotti. Dotti loves goat tying, breakaway, pole bending, barrel racing and healing. After being around for three years she has gained the nickname Popcorn Fart.
I really want to take a moment and thank all of my sponsors past and present for helping me get to where I am today. I have been truly blessed to have your support and love. So, thank you! This year I'm looking forward to serving with two beautiful girls Ella and Navaeh. I'm excited to see where it will take us and what amazing adventures it will bring us.
I want to leave you all with this, in the words of an unknown author, “Remember the crown that sits upon your head sits there not as a symbol of royalty that might denote one who is to be served, but sits there as a symbol of one who gives of herself, voluntarily, for the benefit of those by whose name she is called” so thank you to the Haines Stampede Rodeo Association for this opportunity, Cut ‘er Loose.
