Chain and Bang:
The chain and bang derby class is designed to be an entry level class to promote greater interest in the sport and to give people a class to compete on a budget.
Any participant who directly or indirectly causes injury to a non participant is subject to a 2 year suspension for the first offense. A permanent ban will be the result if there is a second offense. No arbitration will be offered
No welding will be allowed other than in the builders guide. Do not play possum, keep moving and hitting other cars. If your car stalls you have 2 minutes to get it moving and make a hit, failure to do so WILL get you a black flag.
THERE IS ZERO TOLERANCE FOR ALCOHOL OR DRUGS INCLUDING THE USE OF MARIJUANA BY ANY CREW MEMBER OR DRIVER PERIOD... YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE IMMEDIATELY THIS MEANS DRIVER AND CREW WILL BE LEAVING NOT JUST THE PERSON CAUGHT.
All drivers and pit members WILL sign a release before entering the pit area and only those have signed will be allowed in. Any belligerent behavior at anytime may result in a lifetime suspension. Preregistration guarantees your number, cars showing up with same number will be asked to change it. Driver and crew must be the age of 16 yrs. old on race day and must provide a valid drivers license. 16 and 17 yr olds will only be permitted after their parent has signed a waiver/release form period.
JUDGE'S DECISIONS ARE FINAL! NO SNIVELING
SAFETY- A full face helmet with chin guard "motocross style" is required. Long sleeves and pants and fully enclosed shoes are required. A minimum of a 2" neck roll or brace is required. Mouth piece strongly recommended.
A fully charged fire extinguisher is required in your pit stall, a fire extinguisher inside your car is recommended but your choice. If a fire starts in your car exit as safe as possible.
Avoid hitting the drivers door. Any deliberate hits on the drivers door will be grounds for disqualification. Avoid hitting cars with their is flag broke. Powering through cars to put them on the logs or barriers or roll them will be grounds for disqualification.

All glass must be removed and loose glass must be cleaned out of the car
Car exterior must be stripped of all materials such as molding, headlights, trim, tail lights, plastic inner fenders ect that may fall off in the arena. No side mirrors.
All flammable material inside the car must be stripped, headliner, all seats, carpet, door panels etc, (Drivers seat or if a bench style seat it may stay in car).Dash is recommended to be removed, but not mandatory. If dash is removed it must have between 4 and 6 inch dash bar, between pillars, with a 4" x 4" plate on each end. Drivers seat must be securely bolted to the floor and these bolts will not go through the frame. Must have a working seat belt. Rearview mirror allowed if securely fastened.
Hood may use factory hinges and two chains in the front, or no hinges and two chains in the front and two in the rear of the hood, same for the trunk lid applies... ONE WRAP PER CHAIN ONLY FOR HOOD AND TRUNK. Two chain wraps on all doors is mandatory. Chains on trunk and hood MUST wrap around the bumpers no exceptions, you may weld the chain to the bumper no more then one inch bead per chain. No welding allowed on seams, body, or frame period. Fenders may be trimmed but not rolled and bolted or welded. Hood must open for inspection.
Drivers door must have one or two grader blades or one 8" channel iron. No more then 6" will be allowed past door seams on each end with minimum of 3/4 bolts and 4"x4" backing plates to attach, tapered ends are required to prevent getting stuck or ripping off. No welding the door bar on. Must have foam padding between driver and door. Drivers side windshield will have one or two vertical uprights in place of the windshield to keep tires or bumpers out of your lap.
A vertical rollover bar is mandatory and will be behind the seat or on the center hump. Minimum 4"x 3/8 thick square tubbing or pipe will be used. Must have a 6"x6" square plate welded to the top and bottom of the bar, must also have 6"x6" plate on top of the roof bolting the plates together same as the floor "sandwich effect". Minimum of 4 bolts for top and 4 bolts for the bottom. A cross bar from door to door that attaches to the vertical rollover bar using no more then 6" pipe or 6" channel iron, with 6"x6" plates welded on each end attached to the pillar or door is required, cross bar plates must be bolted to the door or pillar this keeps a car from coming inside and also serves as a support for your seat so it don`t break backwards. You may weld or bolt the two bars together where they meet in the middle. Halo bars allowed. DO NOT USE GALVANIZED, EXAUST PIPE OR ANY SHITY PIPE FOR THIS IT WILL BE THE DIFFERNCE BETWEEN YOU WALKING OUT OF A WRECK OR BEING CARRIED OUT THIS WILL BE CHECKED PERIOD
Engine mounts may be welded or chained to the frame. NO added metal. Shifter can be your choice. All cars must have 4 working brakes and the ability to demonstrate they work or you will not compete. Passenger car tire only, NO forklift, skidsteer, pivot tires, mud tires etc.. Tubes allowed. Valve stem protectors not allowed. Stock rim style only and no reinforcing of the rims. Must be filled with air only and will be checked. No wheel flaps.
You may weld the front and rear bumper brackets or shocks, you may not weld the bumper to the frame or add fillers period. OEM bumper for car only. No folding or seam welding of bumpers. Must be wrapped with chain as stated above.
Must be factory rear end. Welded gears or spool is allowed. Stock driveline only no long slip drivelines allowed. Transmission may have one chain wrap around cross member or bolted solid to cross member.
No purpose built engine swaps. No engine cradles, no distributor guards, no pulley protectors etc.. Headers through the hood allowed. Must be stock engine for the make of car. Air cleaner mandatory. A minimum of a 16"x16" hole will be cut in the center of the hood.
Battery must be relocated inside the car and will be enclosed in a box or covered in a rubber mud flap. Must be securely attached to the floor no bungee cords, tie down straps, wire etc.. IF CAR IS FUEL INJECTED YOU MUST HAVE A DISCONNECT SWITCH ON THE DASH PAINTED RED ACCESABLE BY YOU THE DRIVER AND BY EMERGENCY PERSONEL THAT WILL KILL THE MOTOR AND FUEL SYSTEM NO EXCEPTIONS AND IT WILL BE CHECKED.
OEM fuel tank must be removed from car. Steel boat tank is ok, no plastic tanks. Must be securely mounted to the floor no bungee cords, tie down straps, etc.. and as close to the center of car possible behind the seat, tanks mounted next to the doors will not cut it. Steel fuel line is required to run from the tank to the engine, or rubber fuel line may run through a bigger hose as a protector, you may use up to 12" of rubber fuel line to connect fittings on steel lines. Max 8 gallons. All fittings must be double clamped.
Stock radiator in stock location if you choose to run one. You may loop the hoses together if you wish to not run a radiator. No expansion tanks. WATER ONLY no antifreeze or oil. Electric fan is okay and recommended. No other radiator modifications allowed. If you choose to not run a hood you may not run a mechanical fan period, if your hood comes off during the event and you have a mechanical fan you will be black flagged...this is for the safety of you, our crews, and the spectators.
No chaining of center humps or limiting suspension travel period. No suspension modifications allowed. Coil spring cars must run a single chain down from spring perch down around the axle and bolted back to itself to prevent the spring from shooting out, chain MUST have slack in it. No leaf spring clamps allowed. No swaps from coil to leaf or leaf to coil allowed period.
Cars are meant to roll out in the arena as if they came off the street, NO rolling fenders and hoods and folding trunks down because you will not compete. If in violation and compliance is not a option you will have a tech approved vote of getting a chance to be put in the open class if you wish.
Tech will be STRICT on these rules because this is a lower budget go out and have fun and put on a show for the crowd class.
All cars will have a 16"x16" number plate on the roof with there number in order to compete.
