RULES AND SAFETY FOR HAINES OREGON:
Any participant who directly or indirectly causes injury to a non participant is subject to a 2 year suspension for the first offense. A permanent ban will be the result if there is a second offense. No arbitration will be offered
No welding will be allowed other than in the builders guide. Do not play possum, keep moving and hitting other cars. If your car stalls you have 2 minutes to get it moving and make a hit, failure to do so WILL get you a black flag.
THERE IS ZERO TOLERANCE FOR ALCOHOL OR DRUGS INCLUDING THE USE OF MARIJUANA BY ANY CREW MEMBER OR DRIVER PERIOD... YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE IMMEDIATELY THIS MEANS DRIVER AND CREW WILL BE LEAVING NOT JUST THE PERSON CAUGHT.
All drivers and pit members WILL sign a release before entering the pit area and only those have signed will be allowed in. Any belligerent behavior at anytime may result in a lifetime suspension. Pre registration guarantees your number, cars showing up with same number will be asked to change it.
Eligible cars- Any passenger car two or four door, station wagons, hearses. NO pickups, suv's, el comino's, ranchero's, imperials, 4x4 or all wheel drive vehicles.
Pit gates open at 11 a.m and close promptly at 4:30p.m NO EXCEPTIONS. Cars must be race ready at the gate. A Pre Race meeting is MANDATORY for all participants on race day, you dont make the meeting you do NOT run.

Driver and crew must be the age of 16yrs old on race day and must provide a valid drivers license. 16 and 17yr olds will only be permitted after there parent has signed a waiver/release form period.
JUDGE'S DECISIONS ARE FINAL! NO SNIVELING
SAFETY A full face helmet with chin guard "motocross style" is required. Long sleeves and pants and fully enclosed shoes are required. A minimum of a 2" neck roll or brace is required. Mouth piece strongly recommended.
A fully charged fire extinguisher is required in your pit stall, a fire extinguisher inside your car is recommended but your choice. If a fire starts in your car exit as safe as possible.
ALL cars will have two flags inside at all times. A RED and WHITE 14"x14". The RED flag will only be used in a manor that indicates you or another contestant are injured or have a fire inside your car period.
Once a red flag is flown the event will be stopped to address the issue. If you accidentally throw the red flag or throw it for no reason you will be black flagged period, so make sure you know what flag you throw. The white flag will be thrown when you are either timed out or your car will not move.
Inside of drivers door must have a securely attached cushion/pad between the door and driver. Avoid hiting the drivers door. Any deliberate hits on the drivers door will be grounds for disqualification. Avoid hitting cars with there flag up. Powering through cars to put them on the logs or barriers or roll them will be grounds for disqualification.
No Radios period. Head on's are allowed. All glass must be removed this includes broken glass inside doors and trunk and floors. All exterior trim pieces, mirrors, door handles, door and trunk locks bezels, lights, emblems must be removed. Your car should void any chance of anything falling off in the arena. It is required that all interior upholstery, trim, headliner,carpet, door panels, handles and all seats other than the drivers seat be removed. Dash is highly recommended to be removed but not mandatory. Engine compartment will be free of excessive oil or grease and have no large leaks that could result in a fire. Fuel tanks must be removed period. No trailer hitches.
DRIVETRAIN Engine swaps are allowed. Engine cradles will not touch the frame or crossmember. NO front clip swaps. The engine can not sit back any further than original location, if swapped the number one spark plug will not be any further set back than the center of the ball joint. Motor mounts may be solid, welded to the frame or chained. Driveshaft may be fabricated. Five lug axles only. Rearend will be for make and model and attach with the factory mounting location. No full floating axles. Posi, welded or spools are okay. Coil springs must be secured in a way to keep them from coming out.
TIRES AND BRAKES All cars will have working brakes and can demonstrate the ability to stop, foot operated pedal only no hand brakes, your brakes don't work you don't compete. Tires may be no more than 30" in diameter and 8" wide. No tread depth rule. Any ply, snow or mud is ok. NO STUDDED TIRES. Pneumatic forklift tires, tubes or doubling of tire "tire inside a tire" are okay on the front. Rear must be a passenger car or truck tire, byass ply or radial. NO TIRES WILL BE SOLID OR BE FILLED WITH FOAM OR LIQUIDS AND WILL BE CHECKED. No split rims or duals, beadlocks or home made rims. Valve stem protectors allowed. All wheel weights must be removed. All tires will be inspected.
STEERING AND SUSPENSION Reinforcement of tie rods with 3/4x3/4x1/8 angle can be placed on ONE side of the tie rod. All suspension will remain stock. No coil over shocks, air shocks, shock extensions or added leaf springs. All spring mounts must remain in original positions and on axles and shackles. You may weld, bolt or chain your a-arms. (1) 1"x3"x1/4" strap on each a-arm (2) Chain (3) one bolt per a-arm per frame rail. Do not weld it down solid, excess of this rule may require you to cut it or not run.
EXTERNAL BODY Doors, trunk and hood exterior gaps may be welded or chained. If fully welded there is NO bolts from top of body through the bushings on frame allowed period. 1"-1/2"x1/8" flat strap or 3/8" redi rod may be used for seam gaps. If not welded or stitch welded in a 50/50 manner which means you weld a 6" pass you will leave a 6" gap ect.. you may have one bolt on each corner of the car going through the top of body through stock body bushing mounts on frame. BOLTS WILL BE RAN THROUGH FACTORY BODY BUSHINGS ONLY NO EXCEPTIONS. A 16" hole WILL be cut in the hood for fire access and inspection, the trunk must have a hole in for inspection or be able to see through where the tail lights were. Cars must have one and no more than two window bars on the drivers side that attach to the roof and no lower then than the speaker deck or cowl by bolting or welding, they may be welded to a plate no bigger than 4"x4" they may not go from roof to the hood. This is strictly to keep a tire or bumper from coming in your lap. A grader bar or 4" channel iron will be on drivers door, four door models must not extend 4" past on front fender and may not cross the seam on the back of the rear door. Two door models must not extend past 4" past front of door on fender and may not be more than 12" past back seam of door. All bars MUST be tapered to avoid stripping off or getting stuck on another car. There is a 25" max bumper height to the top of bumper rule, re-run cars must make an attempt to comply with this rule and re-run cars are judges discretion. If using factory bumper you may weld the mounts, or weld it solid to frame, collapsible bumpers may be welded but MUST have a hole drilled in the cylinder to prevent oil from spraying out when collapsed, bumpers maybe swapped but must affix to the factory mounting on frame. If your car is re-ran and mounts don't line up you may use 4"x8"x1/4" flat strap to mount bumper (One strap per side only) Front and rear bumpers WILL have one chain per side minum size 5/16" max size 1/2" with no more than one wrap going through body around bumper and bolted to prevent it from coming off in the arena PERIOD. Bumper straps must be cut in a way that they are not connected. All body mounts will be stock and unaltered, if they are rusted leave them, NO reinforcement allowed. Front and rear fenders may be cut no more than 6" all the way around. A dorsal fin is required on the top of car with your number on both sides, your number will be on both sides of your car minum size 16". If your trunk becomes smashed upward obstructing your view a hole MUST be cut in it or removed. Frame repairs allowed using no more then (2) 3"x4"x1/8" or smaller flat plates, no more then two repairs per vehicle.
INTERIOR WELDING AND MODIFICATIONS WHEN BUILDING THIS DO NOT INCLUDE ANY REINFORCEMENT UNLESS YOU BRING A TORCH TO CUT IT OUT. Steering wheel and column will remain stock and in stock location. Shifter may be relocated. Hand throttles are allowed. If drivers seat is a bench seat (WHICH IS STRONGLY DISCOURAGED) and replaced with a bucket seat it will have 4 bolts mounting it down with atleast 2" washers on bottom side. A working shoulder, or lap belt is required. A 4 or 5 point harness is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. All drivers will have there seat belt fastened before entering the arena. Two batteries may be used. Batteries must be relocated to the right front floor board and atleast one foot away from door. A battery box must fully inclose the battery, batteries may be held down with two straps bolted through the floor board in a way that keeps the battery from moving in any direction. Straps WILL BE BOLTED WITH A MINIMUM OF 2" WASHERS ON THE BOTTOM SIDE NOT WELDED TO FLOOR. All batteries WILL have some sort of cover over them (example) mud flap, rubber floor mat ect.. to prevent any acid from hiting the driver in a roll over ect. Fuel tanks will be relocated to the left rear floorboard and a max of 5gals. YOU MAY NOT USE THE FACTORY TANK. Fuel tank will be metal NO PLASTIC TANKS unless a NHRA tank is used. Metal boat tanks may be used. The fuel tank will be judges discretion. Tank must be secured using four points of mounting with metal flat strap (NO PLUMBERS TAPE) A minimum of 2" washers on the bottom side are required. Any fuel leaks found may result in disqualification. Fuel lines running through car must be metal or enclosed in a metal tube, two foot of rubber hose inside car for connection max and must be double clamped. Fuel injected cars must run steel braided, metal or pushlock with no more than 4" rubber hose on ends for connection. All fuel injected cars MUST have a Battery disconnect switch located in the top center of the dash or where dash would be and painted red and WILL BE INSPECTED THAT IT KILLS THE POWER TO THE FUEL SYSTEM AND KILLS THE POWER TO CAR. These methods on the fuel system is for your safety so spend the money. A single cross bar MUST be installed behind drivers seat from the left door to the right door pillar area with a max of 6"x6" plates on both ends, no more than 8" pipe, 8" square tubing or 8" I-Beam. A vertical bar MUST be installed at or near the center hump and MUST EXTEND FROM FLOOR TO ROOF AND BE ATTACHED TO THE CROSS BAR AND BE WELDED TO A MINIMUM OF 6"X6" PLATE ON BOTH ENDS. A second cross bar may be installed in the dash area, you may connect your rear cross bar to the front cross bar but must in NO WAY BE TOUCHING ANY PART OF THE DRIVERS OR PASSENGER SIDE DOORS OR PILLARS. ALL INTERIOR BRACING WITHIN REACH OF THE DRIVER WILL BE WRAPPED IN FOAM PADDING. A bar may be used from driver side of cross bar to the rear fender hump and will be welded to a 6"x6" plate affixed to the fender hump, this is to protect your fuel tank and in no way will it touch the door or pillar. A halo may be used but will not extend more than 1" from the highest part of the roof and not attach to the frame. A internal roll cage may be used in lue of the cross and vertical bars but WILL NOT AFFIX TO THE FRAME.
COOLING SYSTEM Radiator must be in stock location or may be installed on the roof. If on the roof it will have atleast four anchor points with minimum 2" washers on bottom side. Metal cooling lines are required with no more than 12" of rubber hose at ends for connection. Any cooling pipe passing through or in reach of the driver will be wrapped in foam or heat resistant protection. ALL CONNECTIONS WILL BE DOUBLE CLAMPED AND WRAPPED IN DUCT TAPE. No antifreeze allowed period you must use water. You may use electric fans. If you're running a mechanical fan you MUST have the hood on period.
If the rules don't say it don't assume and don't do it. If you want to be sneaky make sure you bring a torch to cut it out. ALL OFFICIAL JUDGES DECISIONS ARE FINAL!!! If your intentions are to come and make money to pay the mortgage then this probably isn't for you, we are here to have fun and be safe and put on a show for the crowd!!
BARREL RACING Youth barrel racing is from age 10 to 15 years old and MUST have a signed waiver/release from legal parent that is present NO EXCEPTIONS.
Adult barrel racing is 16 to 100 years old, 16 and 17 year olds will only be allowed to compete with a signed waiver/release from legal parent that is present. ALL CONTESTANTS WILL SIGN A RELEASE/WAIVER. This is a run what you brung event. Long sleeves, pants, inclosed shoes and a full face helmet are REQUIRED. If you have been drinking or using drugs and we sense that you are intoxicated you will NOT participate. All barrel racers MUST KEEP YOUR VEHICLES OUT OF THE PITS UNLESS YOU WANT TO BUY A PIT PASS PERIOD, THERE IS PLENTY OF ROOM IN THE ADJACENT FIELD. All barrel racing will be $10 entry wich means when its time you will line up in the pits which at that time you are allowed in the pit without purchasing a pit pass, and when your run is complete you must exit out of the pits, if you want to be in the pits through out the night you will purchase a pit pass of $30.
POWDER PUFF/COMPACT CAR/THIS IS A TENTATIVE CLASS
(This is based on a 5 car minimum) This is a one shot run only, and will be run after the main event. This is a trial run for 2020 to see what interest is brought into it. All cars must meet the same rules as above. With the exceptions of 1990 and newer compact cars... If fuel tank is ahead of rear axle it may be used 5 gallons of fuel max. Air bags will be removed or disabled. Anti rollover valve will be left in working order. The dash must remain in place. The battery must be moved inside the car with master disconnect switch. Cars that have ran in the heat and main event that night and are still mobile are allowed to compete in this class but will only have 15 minutes for repairs do to keeping the show rolling. Compact cars from 1990 and present are the idea of this class (CHAIN AND BANG ENTRY LEVEL CHEAP) THIS CLASS MUST BE PRE REGISTERED OTHER THEN THE EXCEPTION OF THE CARS THAT MAY RUN AFTER THE MAIN EVENT. PRE REGISTERED CARS WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. Any interest in this class please contact Cody McCue for further info and to verify that there will be enough to put this class together.
